Job Title: Resilience Hub Project Coordinator

The CCA seeks a Coordinator to implement a new Resilience Hub grant awarded to Cabot.

Job Type: Part-time (40 hrs./month). This position is grant-funded for one year, with the intent to secure ongoing funding.

Salary: $25/hour

Hours: Hours are flexible, but must support the hub’s programming and operational needs.  May include evening weekend and holiday hours.

Benefits: Monthly $40 stipend for phone/internet reimbursement.

Location: Cabot, VT

Overview: The Cabot Resilience Hub is a grant-funded one year project to identify priorities, resources and needs for building a more resilient town infrastructure and emergency response. 

The Hub project will also offer programming for community-building efforts that increase resilience when emergencies occur.

Job Summary:  The Hub Project Coordinator will work collaboratively with the CCA board and staff, Resilience Committee, residents, town leaders, and staff from our partner organizations.

The Resilience Hub Project Coordinator will be the face of the Cabot Resilience Hub and should have an outgoing personality and comfort speaking in front of crowds.

The Resilience Hub Project Coordinator will:

  1. Build and nurture relationships with community, staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure successful grant implementation and service operations.
  2. Organize, promote and lead community events and programming.
  3. Communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately both in person and online.
  4. Raise community awareness about Resiliency and Hub services and programming.
  5. Serve as liaison between the Resilience Committee, CCA, and partner organizations and ensure Hub activities are clearly communicated to all stakeholders in a consistent fashion.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead community outreach and volunteer recruitment.
  • Facilitate Resilience Committee meetings and involve residents in the decision-making process for the Hub.  The Resilience Committee (RC) is a cohort of residents that meets regularly to advise the Project Coordinator on hub activities and operations (e.g. identifying community priorities, coordinating hub programming, ensuring smooth operations, etc.). The Project Coordinator prepares a regular agenda and progress report for RC meetings and works to implement RC recommendations between meetings.
  • Launch and manage Neighbor to Neighbor networks.
  • Work with partner organizations to coordinate skill share events, community meals, trainings, food distribution, emergency preparedness and community directory of skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and implement a culturally relevant communications strategy including social media, email, newspaper articles and in-person outreach.
  • Develop professional and accessible posts for the communications platforms, including partner spotlights, event alerts, emergency communications, and hub updates.
  • Document and track relationships with volunteers, program leads and partners.
  • Ensure programming and services are well advertised to encourage community participation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including afternoons and evenings.
  • Proficiency in using computers, office software applications, email, and social media in a professional capacity.
  • The Project Coordinator should be comfortable initiating contact with potential partners to develop a relationship that results in collaboration that promotes resilience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in community engagement, project management, and grassroots advocacy,
  • Strong business communication and organizational skills,
  • Familiarity with the town of Cabot and commitment to social equity,
  • Experience managing multiple projects independently and efficiently and ability to take initiative with partnerships and task completion,
  • Experience collaborating productively and equitably with community and community-based organizations,
  • Interest in creating a safe and empowering environment for culturally diverse residents and volunteers,
  • Comfort using email, spreadsheets, and social platforms professionally, and

•    High School diploma; some higher education is preferred
