Cabot Community Christmas Dinner
The Cabot Community Christmas Dinner is a community tradition that began in 2013 and provides a hot Christmas dinner, complete with all the trimmings, for families in Cabot. The Christmas Dinner is run by volunteers and serves more than 200 dinners annually.
The meal is always served on December 25 starting at 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Diners can enjoy traditional seating at the Cabot School cafeteria, curb side service for meal delivery to your car or home delivery of your meal. Reservations are not required.
The menu includes turkey from the Bothfeld farm, local vegetables and desserts from local kitchens.
Cash donations of any size are appreciated but are absolutely not necessary.
The crew of volunteers is led by super duo, Fred and Shirley Ducharme. Volunteers plan, prepare and serve the Christmas meal to share with the community.
There are many ways to help prior to the event as well as on Christmas Day. Volunteers are needed for table service, baking desserts, meal delivery, meal prep and clean up.
To volunteer or donate, email info@cabotvermont.org or call (802) 424-2633.
The Cabot Christmas Dinner is presented in collaboration with the Cabot School, generous donors, The Cabot Chronicle, and the Cabot Community Association.
Cabot 4th of July Celebration and Parade
The July 4 committee is always on the lookout for new activities, entertainment, fundraisers and vendors.
The Annual July 4th Celebration in Cabot, started more than 50 years ago, and each year has provided ample opportunity for community-building, celebration and fundraising. Traditional activities include the parade stepping off at 11 am., rummage sale, book sale and open house at the Historical Society.
The parade, organized by the Cabot Fire Department, includes the usual array of entries including the giant puppets, horses, tractors, fire trucks and emergency rigs, musical performers, Cabot residents of note and more.
The Cabot 4th of July Committee is a group of dedicated volunteers and business owners organized with support from the Cabot Community Association and funded through donations and sponsorships. The Cabot 4th of July Celebration would not occur without the support of The Town of Cabot.
